Paazeezah Bux, a 16-year-old model from Homevale in Kimberley, is a semi-finalist in the Miss Teen Glam South Africa competition, and the only contestant from the Northern Cape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This teen, who describes herself as a very good motivator and as someone who has mastered the art of baking a perfect cupcake, has been doing modelling since primary school. She only started with professional modelling this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paazeezah says one community challenge that she wants to address is period poverty, which describes the struggle many low-income women and girls face to afford menstrual products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She has already distributed women\u2019s care packages in Colville, and held a sanity pad drive at the Place of Safety. She also distributed soup and bread in Greenpoint. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The favourite school subjects of this Gr. 11 learner at the Homevale High School are Computer Applications Technology (CAT) and Chemistry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI see myself being a future Miss South Africa \u2013 as well as your future radiologist,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a very modest person, Paazeezah has learnt to accept life as it is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI have always had my two pillars who stood by me through thick and thin. They are my mom and my dearest sister; they are my everything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey give me all the reason to push myself to success because I want to give back to them ten times more than they gave to me, which was love, respect, warmth, care, and support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThat\u2019s why I don\u2019t see myself anywhere else in life if not at the top of the mountain peak, rejoicing in my success and prosperity,\u201d she adds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paazeezah describes the Miss Teen Glam South Africa competition as being about sisterhood. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe main message portrayed is to assure our sisters that we are always there for each other.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The finalists will be nominated on 8 October during a live social media event starting at 14:00. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paazeezah says her main aim for now is to complete her tasks to the best of her ability, while bearing in mind crowning day on 9 December in Sandton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Miss Teen Glam South Africa competition is a pageant that focuses on building young teen girls to become entrepreneurs. The organisors believe pageantry provides positive growth and helps shape lives. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPageantry is not a one-time event, it is a journey of empowerment, growth, trial and joy, which yields lifelong connections and opportunities,\u201d it is stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Voting lines close on 30 September. Those who want to vote for Paazeezah and help her on her way to the crowning ceremony, can vote by depositing money into a bank account.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    These bank account details are available along with her announcement as a semi-finalist on the Miss Teen Glam South Africa Facebook page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
