Two male suspects, aged 37 and 40 years, have been arrested for being in possession of endangered plants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Lt. Col Sergio Kock, police spokesperson, the suspects were stopped just after midnight on Wednesday, 4 October, at a vehicle control point between Steinkopf and Port Nolloth. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Their double cab bakkie was searched, and ten 50 kg bags, filled with 4 485 Conophytum Bilobum <\/span>plants, were found. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The suspects were charged under the Northern Cape Nature Conservation Act for the illegal possesion of endangered plants. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Members of Springbok\u2019s Stock Theft and Endangered Species unit, Public Order Policing (POP) and the police in Steinkopf participated. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The suspects were expected to appear in the Springbok Magistrates\u2019 Court in due course.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Two male suspects,
