Youth in the Northern Cape can apply for the Globeleq Scholarship Fund (GSF) for the 2024 academic year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As a leading provider of funded scholarships nationwide, the GSF is dedicated to supporting specific communities within the renewable energy map, with a keen focus on the Northern Cape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Established nine years ago, the GSF has already provided support to over 420 students from various communities, with bursaries exceeding R24 million. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The GSF aims to allocate a budget of approximately R4 million per year and application is open nationally to applicants pursuing national diplomas or BTech degrees in Mechatronic, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Focusing on the Northern Cape, the fund also includes an \u201cother sciences\u201d category, which is for students studying Nursing, Education (Maths and Science) or Agriculture, with priority given to science, technology, engineering and mathematics-focused (Stem) courses. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is in addition to the \u201cGSF communities\u201d category, available to students pursuing any degree, diploma, or certificate within a 50 km radius of the following photovoltaic plants: De Aar Solar Power, Droogfontein Solar Power, Konkoonsies Solar Power (all in the Northern Cape), Boshof Solar Power (Free State) and Soutpan Solar Power (Limpopo).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The GSF focuses not solely on academic achievements, but also on financial need, students\u2019 locations and gender. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
