This educational experience aiming to engage and inspire the next generation, was made possible through funding from MBP Solar, Prieska\u2019s local solar power plant. Learners have been given an opportunity to explore the intriguing world of renewable energy through interactive and engaging means.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAmid the load shedding challenges, I am grateful to realise that we can use solar and wind power to produce renewable energy, which can be utilised for our household electricity needs. This presents a promising solution to the ongoing power crisis, as renewable energy is a sustainable resource,\u201d said Tasmeen Faro, a learner. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe EnergyDRIVE bus is a fun and interactive way to introduce green technologies to Gr. 8 to Gr. 11 learners, and communities,\u201d says Celiwe Mabaso, senior social performance manager at BTE Renewables.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
By the end of this year\u2019s journey, the EnergyDRIVE will have reached over 7 000 learners, showcasing its impact in promoting renewable energy technologies in outlying communities close to wind farms and a few solar photovoltaic (PV) farms across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
EnergyDRIVE features a container with engaging interactive models that enhance the comprehension of various renewable technologies \u2013 not only promoting awareness of renewable energy sources but also addressing pressing concerns related to climate change.
