The third Kalahari Arts and Heritage Festival (KAHF) is set to take place next week in Philandersbron in the Northern Cape. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This festival, from Wednesday, 24 January, until Saturday, 27 January, had over the last two editions told the stories, culture, and customs of the Khoi and San through song, dance, art exhibitions, film screenings and workshops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is an initiative of the Africa Human Rights Film Festival whose objective is to use arts to generate debate, empower citizens, raise awareness and promote the respect for human rights in marginalised communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Helena Steenkamp, KAHF director, says the four day programme will be made up of two days of workshops, training, activations and rehearsals in Andriesvale and Askham on 24 and 25 January. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On 26 January a school programme takes place, as well as an outreach, panel discussions, rehearsals and bonfire storytelling in Askham.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Festival performances, dance, poetry, music, photo exhibitions, cultural cuisines, language masterclasses, and film screenings in Philandersbron takes place on 27 January.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The whole programme will attract participants from Platfontein, Loubos, Rietfontein, Mier, Andriesvale, Askham, Botswana and Namibia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
