Nathan Carlo was appointed as the conductor of the Kimberley Children\u2019s Choir (KCC) at the end of last year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
As amongst others the chief operating officer and artistic programme director of the Northern Cape Symphony Orchestra (NCSO), Carlo is said to bring a wealth of talent, passion, and dedication to the world of music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Carlo started practising his craft at the age of 12 years when he conducted children\u2019s choirs at church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He then commenced with formal music lessons in high school with Hettie Rossouw of the Kimberley Academy of Music (KAM).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to information on KAM, Carlo won various music awards during high school, and was a student at the Odeion School of Music at the University of the Free State (UFS), where he won numerous awards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As music director he has produced a number of highly acclaimed productions and has won various awards for his vocal coaching abilities. He has also done piano and organ accompaniment for various choirs, and served as adjudicator for a number of music competitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Carlo holds a teaching diploma with distinction, with specialisation in piano from the University of West London (UWL) in England. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also conducts the Northern Cape Symphony Youth Orchestra (NCSYO). The NCSYO is currently the national champions having won the Cantamus National Competition for bands and orchestras last year, the same year when the orchestra was established.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
