During a routine crime prevention patrol on the N7 in Springbok in the Northern Cape, two men were arrested for being in possession of dagga worth approximately R350 000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Wednesday, 3 July, at about 00:05, members of the police\u2019s Public Order Policing unit in Springbok noticed a suspicious truck. After stopping and searching it, 11 bags of dagga concealed between food crates in the back of the vehicle, were confiscated, said Lt. Col. Sergio Kock, police spokesperson. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Police also confiscated an undisclosed amount of cash from the suspects that is believed to be the proceeds of drug dealing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The male driver, aged 32, and his male passenger, aged 26, were arrested for dealing in dagga and will appear in the Springbok Magistrates Court soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The provincial commissioner of the Northern Cape, Lt. Gen. Koliswa Otola, commended the unit\u2019s \u201cC-Platoon\u201d for their vigilance and efforts in robustly fighting drug trafficking. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe police will continue to squeeze the space for drug dealers to operate in this province,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
