Kediletile Lettie Moswete, a mother of one and a passionate teacher, is celebrating her graduation with a Bachelor of Education (BEd) degree from the University of South Africa (Unisa) later this year, marking her as the first in her family to attain a degree. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI chose to study Foundation Phase because I love working with young kids. It brings joy to my heart to make a difference in their lives at such a formative stage,\u201d said Moswete, whose academic and professional journey has been intertwined with her service to the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Her journey in education began as a reading coach in Droogfontein Solar Power\u2019s numeracy and literacy programme, where her passion for teaching was nurtured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She received a full bursary from the Droogfontein Solar Power Bursary Programme, which has supported over 16 local students since 2014. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This enabled her to solidify her role within the Riverton educational community, allowing her to return during her final year at university. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Moswete secured a position at the Waterworks Primary School \u2013 the very school she attended as a child \u2013 initially as a Gr. 3 teacher, before transitioning to a Gr. 2 role this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis bursary has brought dignity and respect to me, my family, and Riverton. It\u2019s empowering to be the first degree holder in my family and a locally-based educator, which is a source of pride for our community.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Moswete intends to further her education by pursuing an honours degree next year. Her daily interactions with colleagues and students inspire her to continue making a positive impact in her community. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
