Inwoners wat besorg is oor misdaad en die verval van Kuruman, verwelkom die besluit van die Ga-Segonyana- plaaslike munisipaliteit om \u2019n aantal vervalle geboue en sinkhuise op erwe langs die R31-roete (Tseningweg), waarop \u2019n nuwe inkopiesentrum beplan word, af te breek.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die huurders van die geboue waarin onder meer motorband- en mutihandelaars, \u2019n drankwinkel, haarsalonne en supermarkte was, is met \u2019n hofbevel verwyder n\u00e1 \u2019n hofgeding wat \u2019n jaar gesloer het.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Een besorgde inwoner s\u00ea persele was vervalle, vuil, \u2019n onooglikheid en \u2019n misdaadnes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDaar is met dwelms handel gedryf en misdadigers het daar geskuil. Van die geboue is ook deur brande beskadig. Ons sal \u2019n nuwe, skoon gebou of inkopiesentrum verwelkom.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hy s\u00ea sedert die uitsettingsbevel verlede week uitgevoer is, waarin die polisie en die Rooimiere die munisipaliteit bygestaan het, is die misdaad in die gebied minder en misdadigers het elders heen verskuif.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die Rooimiere is \u2019n private multidissiplin\u00eare veiligheids\u00admaatskappy wat onder meer in hervestiging en uitsetting spesialiseer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Volgens die inwoner, wat verkies om anoniem te bly, het misdadigheid in Kuruman afgeneem danksy meer gereelde patrollies deur die polisie en die gemeenskaps\u00adpolisi\u00ebringsforums (GPF).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Martin Tsatsimpe, munisipale bestuurder, s\u00ea in \u2019n verklaring hulle het \u2019n hooggeregshofbevel uitgevoer op die erwe wat eens deur Transnet besit is, maar later aan die munisipaliteit geskenk is.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDie uitsettings en sloping van formele en informele strukture baan die weg vir die ontwikkeling van die Segonyana Mall. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDi\u00e9 ontwikkeling is deel van die Ga-Segonyana- plaaslike munisipaliteit se ge\u00efntegreerde ontwikkelingsplan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOns was vir meer as vier jaar in \u2019n regstryd met huurders betrokke wat die grond beset het. Die huurders het ondanks verskeie uitsettingskennisgewings geweier om die perseel te ontruim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOp 19 Januarie het die Noord-Kaapse hooggeregshof in ons guns as die titelakte-houer beslis. Die huurders se app\u00e8laansoek is op 18 Junie van die hand gewys. Die Segonyana Mall-ontwikkeling gaan die gebied transformeer, wat na raming 500 nuwe werksgeleenthede meebring en die plaaslike infrastruktuur sal opgeknap word. Die projek sal veiligheid en sekuriteit verbeter en bydra tot die groter ekonomiese groei van Kuruman.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tsatsimpe s\u00ea die besetters moet besef dit is onregmatig om munisipale grond onwettig te beset. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
