Samantha Moses (41), a reading coach from De Aar, is preparing to graduate with her diploma in Gr. R teaching in the middle of this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This will bring her one step closer to realising her dream of making a difference in her community by applying her skills and dedication as a teacher working in Early Childhood Development (ECD).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Her journey was made possible through a bursary rewarded by De Aar Solar Power.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Moses encourages others in her community who aspire to become teachers, but may feel uncertain about taking the first step. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou have to have a passion \u2013 you cannot become a teacher if you are not passionate.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe are working with gentle souls; we need to give them something to look forward to. When you step into that classroom, you have to be prepared to give them your best.\u201d<\/p>Samantha Moses<\/cite><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n With financial support from the bursary programme, which assists students in Hanover, Britstown, Philipstown and De Aar, Moses was able to focus entirely on her studies without the financial burden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The programme also opened the door for her to consider furthering her education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n She now plans to pursue a Bachelor of Education degree in Foundation Phase teaching, starting as a second-year student due to credits from her diploma. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Driven by her passion for teaching, Moses hopes to inspire change in her community. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI want to encourage parents to get involved in their children\u2019s education, ensuring they attend school and understand the importance of learning.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Her dedication to education stems from her experience as a reading coach at the Kareeville Primary School, a role she has held since 2017, as part of the solar plant\u2019s overarching education programme. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Thandaza Teka, economic development specialist for De Aar Solar Power, expressed the solar plant\u2019s support for students like Moses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThrough our bursary programme, we aim to foster a culture of learning, equipping community members with knowledge, the foundation of sustainable livelihoods,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Samantha Moses (41), a reading coach from De Aar, is preparing to graduate with her diploma in Gr.
