Behalwe dat Claudia van kleins af aan rugby blootgestel was, het sy tydens haar skooljare by haar alma mater, die Ho\u00ebrskool Zandvliet, haar eerste rugbywedstryd gespeel. Later was sy ook as bestuurder van die seunsspan betrokke. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tydens haar studentejare by die Universiteit van Wes-Kaapland (UWK) het sy haar rugbydeelname op ‘n meer ernstige vlak voortgesit.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Deur rugby het ek eerstehands die waarde van dissipline, spanwerk, leierskap en deursettingsvermo\u00eb geleer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Ek was bevoorreg om afrigters en mentors te h\u00ea wat ‘n groot invloed op my lewe gehad het. Hul leiding en ondersteuning het my ge\u00efnspireer om dieselfde positiewe impak op ander se lewe te h\u00ea, veral jong vroue wat hul plek in rugby en die samelewing probeer vestig.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Nie net afrigter, maar ook ma, werknemer, student<\/h3>\n\n\n\n In Kimberley is Claudia nie net by die GWRU betrokke nie. Sy is in ‘n heeltydse pos by die departement van justisie en is deeltyds besig met die verwerwing van haar LLB-graad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sy is ‘n ma, werknemer, student \u00e9n afrigter. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Om al haar verpligtinge te hanteer, glo sy aan deeglike beplanning, dissipline en is sy dankbaar vir ‘n sterk ondersteuningsnetwerk. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Dit vra opoffering, veral wanneer ek laat nagte moet werk en soms minder tyd saam met my familie kan deurbring. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Ek prioritiseer my verantwoordelikhede, bestuur my tyd en maak seker dat ek, ongeag uitdagings, steeds gehaltetyd aan elke aspek van my lewe afstaan.”\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sy beskryf haarself as ‘n hardwerkende vrou wat glo dat geen droom te groot is as jy bereid is om daarvoor te werk nie. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
“En dat ons nooit deur ons omstandighede en verantwoordelikhede agter gehou moet word nie,” s\u00ea sy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Streef daarna om voorbeeld te wees<\/h3>\n\n\n\n Claudia is van mening dat vroue oor ongelooflike deursettingsvermo\u00eb en veerkragtigheid beskik, asook die vermo\u00eb om verskeie rolle suksesvol te vervul. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Ek glo dat ons enige uitdagings kan aanpak wanneer ons, ons gedagtes daarop vestig en met toewyding daarna streef. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Vroue speel ‘n belangrike rol in gemeenskappe, en dit is ons verantwoordelikheid om daardie rol met trots, integriteit en passie te vervul. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“This appointment is a testament to Claudia’s passion, dedication, and the impact she continues to make in the development of women’s rugby within the Northern Cape and beyond,” said the GWRU in a statement. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“We are incredibly proud to see one of our own contributing on the national stage while continuing to inspire and develop the next generation of female rugby players at Griquas.”\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Claudia has extensive experience in rugby. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Among other roles, she assumed the position of head coach of the women’s team at the Sol Plaatje University (SPU) and the Frances Baard Region, as well as the GWRU U20 women’s team.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Her playing career spans several years: She was included as a player in the senior women’s team at the University of the Western Cape (UWC), Stellenbosch University, and the Western Province Rugby Union.
