Lees vorige aflewerings <a href=\"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/noordkaapbulletin\/opinion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">hier<\/a>. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dit is die einde van my matriekjaar en tyd vir ons jaarlikse seevakansie. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die woonwa is gepak, die laaste paar goed is in die motor gelaai en die koelsak word agter die passassiersitplek staangemaak. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ek het altyd dieselfde ritueel gehad voordat ons vertrek: Ek het op die gras gaan sit en die honde gegroet. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ek het gevra dat hulle in die tyd dat ons weg is al hul kos moet opeet en nie oor ons moet treur nie. Ek het hulle ook vertel wie hulle gaan versorg. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die belangrikste boodskap was dat ons beslis elke dag aan hulle gaan dink en dat ons binnekort weer gaan terugkom. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dan het ek elkeen &#8216;n druk gegee en in die motor gaan klim.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My pa sluit oudergewoonte die agterdeur en ek staan grasperk se kant toe om die honde te groet. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Toe my pa die sleutel in die slot draai, s\u00ea my ma: &#8220;Moenie vir Snoopy soek nie, ons het haar gisteraand laat uitsit.&#8221; \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hierdie woorde tref my soos &#8216;n vuishou tussen my o\u00eb. Sy was 12 jaar oud, maar sy was nie merkbaar siek nie. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sy het twee dae vantevore nog agter die laventelbos weggekruip toe ek haar wou bad.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My tong voel dik in my mond. Ek kyk in my ma se rigting. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Kom,&#8221; s\u00ea sy, &#8220;dit is vakansie.&#8221; \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ek skuur langs haar verby en klim in die motor. Ek gaan sit nie op die gras nie. Ek groet nie die ander hond nie. Ek verduidelik nie aan hom wat voorl\u00ea nie. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Trane dreig om oor my wange te loop. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My binneste skree hard-op in o\u00ebnskynlike stilte. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ek wil vra wat haar makeer het dat so &#8216;n besluit geneem is. Ek wil weet hoekom ek nie in die saak geken is nie. My vrae maal in my ingewande, maar my lippe bly opmekaar. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8216;n Paar jaar later bel my ma my. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Ek het gewag tot jou eksamen klaar is om jou die nuus mee te deel,&#8221; s\u00ea sy ernstig. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ek sluk. Ek aanvaar my pa se gesondheid is nie goed nie. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Ek moes Wolle laat uitsit.&#8221; Stilte. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ek dink oor haar nuus na. Ek het haar hond een keer per jaar vir &#8216;n paar dae gesien. Ek het nie eens van hom gehou nie. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.family-institute.org\/behavioral-health-resources\/eight-types-narcissists\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Narsiste <\/a>het twee stelle re\u00ebls. Een vir hulleself. Een vir hul slagoffers. Hulle mag sekere goed doen; hul slagoffers glad nie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hulle mag die re\u00ebls breek; hul slagoffers glad nie. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die onsigbare dekmantel wat oor emosionele mishandeling hang, veroorsaak dat slagoffers nie herken of gehelp word nie.
