Education remains a cornerstone of development, which is why Kathu Solar Park established its bursary programme three years ago. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Applications are now open for the 2026 intake, offering support to young people from the John Taolo Gaetsewe (JTG) District, which include Gamagara, Ga-Segonyana, and Joe Morolong.<\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The programme has already made a significant impact, assisting more than 40 students since its inception. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Our bursary initiative continues to open doors for youth across the district, providing access to tertiary education that might otherwise remain out of reach,” said Sandisiwe Mntonintshi, socio-economic development (SED) manager for Kathu Solar Park<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2026 intake will aim to enrol at least 20 students, although final numbers will be determined by the performance and progress of the current cohort. So far, bursary recipients have pursued a broad range of qualifications, with popular choices including Accounting, Bachelor of Science programmes, and Education.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kathu Solar Park invites applications from both prospective and current students registered at accredited South African public tertiary institutions \u2212 including TVET colleges, universities of technology, and universities. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Applicants must be South African citizens residing within the JTG District.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The value of each bursary is determined on an individual basis and may cover tuition, registration, and examination fees; accommodation in university or college residences (or equivalent); meals; learning materials such as textbooks and stationery.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
