Hulle was onderweg na Kimberley toe hy na bewering in hul Mercedes-voertuig teen &#8216;n vragmotor gebots het.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.concourt.org.za\/index.php\/judges\/former-judges\/11-former-judges\/63-justice-yvonne-mokgoro\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Mokgoro,<\/a> wat reeds afgetree was, is ernstig beseer.\u00a0 Sy is\u00a0op 9 Mei 2024 weens haar beserings oorlede. N\u00e1 haar dood het landsvlae halfstok gehang en het sy &#8216;n kategorie een amptelike begrafnis gehad waar oudhoofregter Raymond Zondo en president Cyril Ramaphosa haar lof besing het.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mmelesi het op Woensdag 20 Augustus in sy verweer aangevoer dat hy gedink het hy sien &#8216;n mens in die noodbaan l\u00ea waarna hy &#8216;n U-draai gemaak het. Hy wou toe weer &#8216;n U-draai maak. In sy verklaring s\u00ea hy hy het gewag vir die verbygaande verkeer toe die vragmotor teen hulle bots. Toe hy na sy lewensmaat kyk het haar kop vooroor gehang. Hy het haar probeer stut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote has-medium-font-size is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"has-base-3-background-color has-background has-small-font-size\">Darryl Strydom, &#8216;n private forensiese ondersoeker wat hom op verkeersongelukke toespits, het getuig Mmelesi het verskillende weergawes aan polisielede gegee. Strydom het ook getuig dat die bestuurders van albei voertuie die blaam kan dra.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-parkeerligte-was-aan-geen-flikkerlig\">&#8216;Parkeerligte was aan; geen flikkerlig&#8217;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Ene mnr. Du Plessis, die bestuurder van die vragmotor, het in sy verklaring aangevoer dat hy en sy vrou op die N12 noordwaarts vanaf Kimberley na Warrenton gery het. Die pad was reguit en dit was donker. Sy sleepwa was vol gelaai met 15 ton lusernsaad. Hy het teen 80km\/h gery. Voor in die pad kon hy die Mercedes-Benz in die linkerkantse noodbaan sien. Net die parkeerligte was aan, met geen flikkerligte wat aangeskakel was nie. Sy vrou wat langs hom gesit het, het ook daarop gewys. Du Plessis \u00a0het sy kolligte (spotlights) aangesit om die voertuigbestuurder te waarsku. Skielik het die Mercedes-Benz voor hom ingedraai, en hy kon niks doen om die botsing te vermy nie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sy vragmotor het die Mercedes-Benz meer as 30 m vorentoe gedruk. Weens die botsing is die vragmotor se bosbreker aan die linkerkant gebuig en van die kolligte beskadig.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die meeste skade aan die Mercedes-Benz was tussen die twee regterkantse wiele, en die groot skade net voor die agterwiel dui daarop dat die voertuig gekantel was. Di\u00e9 voertuig het nie reguit in die noodbaan gestaan nie, en van die wiele was oor die geelstreep in die rybaan toe die botsing plaasvind. As die voertuig loodreg in die noodbaan gestaan het, sou die vragmotor dit van die pad gestamp het.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Strydom meen Du Plessis kon sy spoed verminder het, sy toeter gebruik en ligte geflikker het.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Senioraanklaer TB Namisa kla aan. Adv.
