In a collaborative effort to promote food security and sustainable agriculture in the Noupoort community, ten local subsistence farmers have been equipped with essential gardening starter packs to support the establishment and upkeep of household food gardens.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This initiative, delivered in partnership by the Department of Agriculture, Noupoort Wind Farm<\/a>, and Business Ezone Ventures, was rolled out in honour of Nelson Mandela’s legacy of service, resilience, and community empowerment. It forms part of a broader commitment to fostering environmental responsibility, self-reliance, and long-term sustainable livelihoods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“A food garden is more than just a means to an end; it’s a pathway to a healthier, more resilient lifestyle. This Mandela Day, we chose to invest in something lasting, something that speaks directly to community upliftment and dignity. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“This project reinforces the responsibility to protect the environment, creates a legacy of environmentalism and community unison,” said Vanessa Fredericks<\/a>, economic development manager for Noupoort Wind Farm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through the programme, the farmers received vegetable combos prepared by Business Ezone, while the Department of Agriculture contributed gardening tools and seeds, drawing on their long standing support for local subsistence farmers.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We are grateful for the aid. It motivates us to continue gardening and farming and makes a meaningful difference in our lives. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
