Net soos in die “ou dae van apartheid,” meen hulle, is daar gemeenskappe wat nie onthou word wanneer uitgedeel word nie. Dit is uitgesluit die proviand en beloftes wat voor verkiesings uitgedeel word; met die proviand wat effens langer as die verkiesingsbeloftes hou.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mense wil nie meer langs rioolriviere woon terwyl di\u00e9 reuk bitter in die neusholtes vasgeslaan het nie; terwyl hulle in di\u00e9 alomteenwoordige reuk moet kos maak, slaap, en sommer net lewe nie.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hulle wil nie meer wonder wanneer daar weer water in die krane gaan wees nie. Hulle wil nie h\u00ea hul kinders moet meer sonder uitsig en sonder hoop om die huis rondl\u00ea nie. Hulle wil nie h\u00ea dieselfde kinders se enigste uitsien moet die volgende “fix” nyaope wees nie. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hulle wil nie h\u00ea “foreigners” van die enigste winkels in die woonbuurte moet hulle meer hiet en gebied nie. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hulle, en hul familielede, wil nie meer aansoek doen vir sogenaamde plaaslike projekte en dan kom “mense van die kant” en kry die kontrakte nie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hulle wil nie h\u00ea hul klagtes oor powere dienslewering moet meer ignoreer word nie. Hulle wil nie meer wonder hoe hulle met ‘n staatspensioen ‘n munisipale woonstel \u2212 wat skaars onderhou word \u2212 se huur moet betaal nie. Of met die ewigstygende water- en elektrisiteitsuitgawe byhou nie.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hulle wonder hoeveel die string blink ampsmotors van die munisipale amptenare kos. Hulle wonder of die amptenare weet hoe dit voel om nie geld vir kos te h\u00ea nie. Hulle wonder hoe sommige aangestel word terwyl ‘n bewese lys van oortredings o\u00ebnskynlik ignoreer word. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hulle wonder waarom amptenare dan nie geraak word deur die haglike omstandighede waarin soveel inwoners van soveel buurte moet bly nie, en waarom di\u00e9 amptenare wat juis daarvoor aangestel is, nie ‘n verskil maak nie.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
