Die provinsiale regering word versoek om die leemte te vul wat deur die beplande sluiting van die Organisasie vir Alkoholverwante Navorsing<\/a> (Farr) in die Noord-Kaap gelaat sal word.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Weens ‘n gebrek aan ondersteuning en befondsing het Farr se gemeenskapsentrums en projekte in Hanover en Renosterberg op 31 Maart vanjaar gesluit. Luidens ‘n verklaring van Karen Jooste, DA-LPW en die Noord-Kaap woordvoerder oor maatskaplike ontwikkeling, sal Farr sy deure in 2026 heeltemal sluit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Uitsonderlike navorsing wat deur die fasiliteit gedoen is, het die kollig laat skyn op die verwoestende impak van fetale alkoholnoodsindroom (FASD) in die provinsie. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2001 het Farr onthul dat die 11,9% FASD-voorkoms in De Aar die hoogste gedokumenteerde voorkomssyfer ter w\u00eareld was. Sedertdien het Farr studies in Emthanjeni en Renosterberg gedoen, wat selfs ho\u00ebr koerse van FASD getoon het, naamlik 28,2% in Renosterberg, 20,8% in Hanover en 21,4% in Britstown.\n<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Farr het ‘n deurslaggewende rol gespeel om te demonstreer hoe bewysgebaseerde ingrypings bewustheid, voorkoming en herstel kan ondersteun. Farr<\/a> se gemeenskapsentrums het kritieke ondersteuning deur middel van bewustheid-, voorkoming-, opleiding- en ondersteuningsprojekte vir die hele samelewing gebied.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
