A man (35) from Mount Plesent
\nlocality in Elliotdale is expected to appear in court today in connection with the alleged murder of his girlfriend last month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The man has been arrested following the missing person case that was investigated by
\nthe Detectives. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to police spokesperson, Captain Siphokazi Siwisa, the
\narrest followed after a woman (34) was reported missing at Elliotdale SAPS at the beginning of June this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt is alleged that the woman went missing while she
\nvisited her boyfriend in Elliotdale and never returned home. Thorough
\ninvestigation led to the arrest of the boyfriend for murdering her. Upon investigation police found out that he murdered his girlfriend and he pointed
\nout the scene of the crime where the deceased\u2019s remains were found.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHe was immediately arrested
\nand charged with murder,\u201d said Siwisa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The District Commissioner
\nBrigadier Ngangema Xakavu said this sends a strong message to perpetrators that
\nthey would continue fighting the scourge of Gender Based Violence and Femicide in their areas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe will leave no stone unturned in ensuring
\nthat perpertrators are behind bars and facing the full might of law,\u201d Xakavu said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
