After a year\u2019s hiatus from the music scene, Port St Johns teenage afro-house artist, Manelisi Joyi (19), popularly known by his stage name, Emjay Joyi, has made a comeback with the release of his latest single, titled KwaMaziphathe<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new single was officially released on June 23 and is currently available on YouTube and Spotify.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The track derives its name from a popular hang-out spot in Majola Village, Port St Johns, where Emjay Joyi hails from.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cKwaMaziphathe is a popular hang-out spot in my home village of Majola and my single is a funky afro-house song that talks about the entertainment on offer at the place while also encouraging others to visit the place,\u201d said the musician.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He says the track is the work of three producers with DJ Tyboss producing the beat, Freedom recording the track and mixing, and mastering being done by Durban based producer, popularly known as Siko Lezinja.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Joyi has attributed his year-long absence from the music scene to a dispute he had with his Johannesburg-based record label which he now says he has put behind him<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
