AN NPO called Movement for Change, based in Mtembele village, Ngqamakhwe, has formed a partnership with the East London IDZ, with the aim of developing agriculture and sport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the partnership, the Movement for Change is requesting that the IDZ invests in the development of sport and agriculture in Mtembele village, so that community members can benefit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Friday, July 23, the East London IDZ started to deliver on the request, when organisation managers, led by marketing and communications manager, Sibusiso Ralarala, handed over two soccer kits, two netball kits, two volleyball kits and balls to Mtembele villagers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ralarala, from IDZ, also handed over three big trophies, along with small ones and medals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
NPO chairperson, Luxolo Ngcuthushe, said these trophies and medals would be used when they hosted their annual Heritage Sports Tournament, later this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking to Mthatha Express <\/span>about their partnership, Ngcuthushe said they were looking forward to their partnership with East London IDZ and they were hoping, as an NPO, that the community would benefit from it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe are very happy with this partnership, as it will drive the purpose and objectives of the Movement for Change to transform our youth in terms of giving them hope to succeed in life,\u201d said Ngcuthushe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Their objectives, as an NPO, are better education, sport development and eradication of poverty through agricultural programmes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Prior to the kits and trophies handover, East London IDZ visited them a week before just to evaluate a site where they intended to build a soccer ground for Mtebele soccer teams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Currently the NPO structure is busy preparing to host their annual sports heritage tournament which is held in September. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Former Premier Soccer League spokesperson, Luxolo September, was a guest at the event, which was attended by very few community members, due to the organisers needing to adhere to COVID-19
