A 34-year-old woman from Xolobe Administrative area in Tsomo
\nhas been arrested after she allegedly buried her newborn baby alive on October
\n11, 2021. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to police reports, the baby was allegedly put in a
\nsuitcase and buried in a shallow grave in the yard. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cPolice were alerted by the Chief of the area about his
\nsuspicion that the woman was pregnant and that there is no child. The police
\nwent out to Xolobe and found a grave in the yard. Upon digging it up, they discovered
\nthe child in blankets in the suitcase, still alive. The child was taken to
\nhospital,\u201d police spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
She added that the mother was arrested and taken to hospital
\nfor medical attention. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cShe is currently under police guard. A case of attempted
