Officials from Mr Bread\/Premier Foods in Mthatha gave support to children with autism from the OR Tambo Autism Centre by donating bread and other gifts with the aim of showing love and support. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sales manager for Mr Bread\/Premier Foods, Ludwe Leve, said they had supported various organisations in Mthatha. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe decided to support these children after we heard the challenges they are facing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOne of the main challenges was that the staff had to bake bread every day for these children. We are sure that our input would assist them a lot. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe also brought different toys for them,\u201d said Leve. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The director and the founder for OR Tambo Autism Centre, Nomaza Nkohla, said one of the biggest challenges they had was that they were paying rent, because they didn\u2019t have their own place. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cEven though we get funding from the Department of Social Development, we spend it in paying rent most of the time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe have two teachers and four assistant teachers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI still have to hire another two teachers because we have close to 35 children. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAll of them (the teachers) are paid by the centre,\u201d said Nkohla. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Nkohla confirmed that they were happy to receive such help from Mr Bread. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
She said this would be a relief because when they didn\u2019t have electricity they were forced to use a gas stove to bake for these children.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
