Young Lions were crowned the new champions of the KwaKhanya eAfrica Music Festival and Entertainment third annual netball tournament, this past Saturday, after a 14-13 victory against Mighty Spears in a tough and entertaining final match.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This was Young Lions\u2019 first trophy and gold medal this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the semi-finals, Young Lions beat 2021 champions, Khanyisa High School, 10-8.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The victory will encourage the players to continue working hard, as they travelled 50km from Qumbu to Mthatha to compete in the tournament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lions\u2019 head coach, Lindisipho Mbukwana, said he is very excited about winning the tournament, especially winning it with an u\/14 squad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are building a strong team for next year,\u201d said Mbukwana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis trophy and medals will boost players\u2019 confidence and we want them to focus more on education and sport and, if possible, next year they can win scholarships.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Young Lions\u2019 girls come from Qumbu, while Mighty Spears ladies were from Qweqwe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The games were held at eMasimini Sport Ground in Ngolo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
