The founder of the Bhazana non-profit organisation from Eluthubeni location in Libode, Thobile Bhazana, has shown love and support to children who are living with disabilities by donating wheelchairs to them, last week. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He donated four wheelchairs to the children who are struggling to walk. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bhazana said he started this initiative in 2020. He said he grew up struggling but after he got a job, he told himself that he would assist where he could. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI am also doing this because I am a Christian, so I believe in assisting other people. I assisted six children in 2020, then last year I donated three other wheelchairs again,\u201d he said. He added that he used his money from his own pocket. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said he received a discount since he used the wheelchairs to help the needy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bhazana confirmed that he had a team that he worked with who helped him to identify those children who were struggling. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI don\u2019t have Facebook but some of the children we helped were found through Facebook because the people that I am working with use Facebook most of the time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI am not only helping children who are from my area but I also help all those who are having a problem.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also added that besides donating wheelchairs, he also helped children who need uniforms. He confirmed that he recently handed over uniforms to two children in Cape Town who were not attending school. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said their mother had passed away in Engcobo due to COVID-19, then they were taken by a relative to Cape Town. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAfter I heard about this problem, I went to their homestead and found them sitting at home. I then went to ask for a space for them in the nearby school. Luckily, they were accepted. After that I applied for a social grant for them because they were not receiving any.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
One of the wheelchair recipient\u2019s mother, Nokulunga Vabuthuntu, said she used to struggle with her son (11), who is living with disability, because he was using an old wheelchair.
