South African Police Service (SAPS)
\ndetectives are searching for a suspect after an elderly woman\u2019s (78) body was
\nfound by her family on Sunday night, May 29 at about 17:30 in KwaTshweni Location,
\nDutywa. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is alleged that her family
\nleft her alone on Friday and went to another location for a family gathering. She was last
\nseen by neighbours on the previous day collecting sheep from the grazing camp.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Sunday afternoon at about 17:30 the family arrived and discovered her body
\nlying on the sponge mattress. They immediately alerted the
\npolice. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cA case of murder is under
\ninvestigation and no arrests effected yet. The circumstances surrounding the
\nincident forms part of the investigation. The deceased sustained serious
\ninjuries on the upper body. It has not yet been established what type of
\ninstrument was used in the commission of this serious crime,\u201d said Eastern Cape
\nSAPS spokesperson, Brigadier Tembinkosi Kinana. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe Provincial Commissioner,
\nLieutenant General Nomthetheleli Mene has expressed shock at yet another
\nincident involving the killing of a woman. She immediately ordered the police
\nto trace, track and arrest the perpetrator of this heinous crime,\u201d Kinana
\nadded. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
