Six suspects, aged
\nbetween 34 and 54, will appear before the Tsolo Magistrate\u2019s Court on June 7 for allegations of attempted cash-in-transit robbery, numerous counts of
\nattempted murder and malicious damage to property. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Hawks
\nSpokesperson, Captain Yolisa Mgolodela, it is alleged that in 2019 four guards from
\nFidelity Cash Solutions were attacked by a group of suspects who trapped the
\narmoured vehicle with a chain of spikes on the road which damaged the tyres.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt is further alleged that the suspects fired at both the armoured and escort
\nvehicles near Langeni Forest in Tsolo. Fidelity security guards returned fire
\nand the suspects fled. No money was taken and no injuries were reported during
\nthe crossfire, however, the shootings resulted in serious damages to the
\nFidelity Guard vehicles,\u201d said Mgolodela.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She added that four suspects, who are
\nalready in custody for numerous cases of police killings, car-hijackings,
\nillegal possession of firearms and ammunition and other cash-in-transit heists, were allegedly linked to the incident and more charges were added on June 5, 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cFurther investigation led to the arrest of two additional
\nsuspects who were arrested in Mqanduli and in Mbhashe Municipality area. The duo
\nwill be joining their four alleged accomplices when they appear at Tsolo
\nMagistrate\u2019s Court tomorrow.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nInvestigation (SOCI) team of the Hawks, Mthatha National Intervention Unit
\n(NIU) and Public Order Policing (POP) in executing a successful
