\nPublic Works and Infrastructure MEC, Babalo Madikizela, has unveiled the R155 million
\nMqanduli office precinct, a one-stop shop government departments\u2019 offices
\ncomplex that will house four departments upon completion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Madikizela
\nofficially launched the flagship project, on July 26, during a sod turning
\nceremony he attended at ERF 13 in Mqanduli where the 4 060 square meter project
\nwill be constructed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The office
\nprecinct will house the Department of Education, Department of Social
\nDevelopment, Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs and
\nthe Department of Rural Development and Agrarian Reform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe one stop shop
\noffice precincts are meant to bring government services closer to our people
\nwhere they can access government services in one place. These developments also
\nunlock economic spin-offs that go far beyond bringing government services as
\nthey have the potential to also attract investment to the towns where they are
\nlocated,\u201d said Madikizela.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He further
\nconfirmed that the main contractor has already been appointed and work on the
\nproject will get underway within 14 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Madikizela added
\nthe project will benefit local small businesses as 30 percent of the R155
\nmillion has been ring fenced for them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The project will
\nalso create hundreds of job opportunities for the locals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Mqanduli
\nDevelopment Forum and the King Sabata Dalindyebo Local Municipality have both
