The AmaXhosa Kingdom honoured excellence in education by launching an annual Amaxhosa Education Awards, with the aim of rewarding teachers who did very well in their jobs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event was held at King Hintsa FET College in Dutywa, last week. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the organiser of this event, Queen Nonzuzo Sigcau from the Amaxhosa Kingdom, there were 25 teachers from primary and secondary schools who were rewarded. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
She said the aim was to motivate them and introduce school programmes they are doing, as the Amaxhosa Kingdom, to support education. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe are having Inkciyo<\/span> and indoni<\/span>, where we motivate learners to stay away from things that could disturb them in their school work,\u201d said Sigcau. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Sigcau added that they also donated some seedlings to be used for the school gardens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n One of the teachers from Nozizwe Primary School in Willowvale, Noluthando Mgedezi, said they had received a certificate of recognition. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe received this certificate because of working together with this kingdom in bringing better change in developing learners. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe were
