{"id":48592,"date":"2022-09-27T13:46:51","date_gmt":"2022-09-27T11:46:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/mthathaexpress\/police-probe-murder-attempted-murder-cases-following-shooting-in-tsomo-20220927\/"},"modified":"2025-03-20T23:34:07","modified_gmt":"2025-03-20T21:34:07","slug":"police-probe-murder-attempted-murder-cases-following-shooting-in-tsomo-20220927","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/mthathaexpress\/police-probe-murder-attempted-murder-cases-following-shooting-in-tsomo-20220927\/","title":{"rendered":"Police probe murder, attempted murder cases following shooting in Tsomo"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The provincial police commissioner Lieutenant General<br>\nNomthetheleli Mene has ordered the activation of a 72-hour mobilisation plan to<br>\ntrace and find at least three suspects who opened fire on a taxi traveling with<br>\nfive occupants. <strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Two passengers were fatally wounded while another two<br>\nsustained gunshot wounds near Elangeni Forest in Tsomo on Sunday, September 25.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cJust after<br>\nmidnight, it is alleged that at least three unknown armed men emerged from<br>\nbushes in Elangeni Forest, Tsomo and opened fire on a Toyota Quantum that was<br>\ntravelling with five occupants.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe motive for the shooting is currently unknown,<br>\nhowever the circumstances surrounding the incident are forming part of the<br>\ninvestigation.&nbsp; The names of the deceased persons are still withheld until<br>\nthe conclusion of the identification process,\u201d said police spokesperson Warrant<br>\nOfficer Majola Nkohli<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Police are investigating two counts of murder and two<br>\nattempted murder cases. No arrests have been made at this stage and the<br>\ninvestigation continues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anyone with information that could lead to the arrest<br>\nof the suspects is urged to please contact the
