One of the beneficiaries from Mbangweni location in Ntabankulu, who attended training from the Skills Development Initiative, has been selected to undergo training offered by the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency to enhance further entrepreneurship skills. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This training started on Monday, October 10, and ends tomorrow (Friday), October 14, at the Turkish Embassy in Pretoria. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This gave Zanele Dlamini (32) an opportunity to exhibit her products to an international market. According to Dlamini, she attended training that was hosted last month by Princess Stella Sigcau II\u2019s Skills Development Initiative, which is a programme which falls under the Amampondo Heritage Foundation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSince I am not working, I attended this training with the aim of learning to do lot of things that could assist me to make money. That is how I met the members of Nyanda Youth South Africa because we were trained by them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI was very excited when I heard that they were looking for me to go to their training in Pretoria. I am willing to learn more because for now I am baking, just to make some money,\u201d said Dlamini. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Sigcau, her initiative led to the training of women and youth from September 6-9 in various parts of the Mpondo Kingdom, namely Mbizana, Ntabankulu and Lusikisiki, as well as EmaXesibeni. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe main purpose of the training was to empower women and youth, fight poverty and unemployment, as well as encourage entrepreneurship to, among others, avoid dependency including financial dependency, which at times leads to women becoming victims of gender-based violence in the rural areas,\u201d said Sigcau. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
She added that this programme is rooted in the fight against GBV. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
