A young graduate and a mechanic, Samela Dayeni (27), from KwaDlomo location in Mthatha, appealed to young people who have skills to use them and not to wait to be employed. She appealed to other graduates to take all the opportunities they get, especially if they have skills. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou must learn to use your own skills because job opportunities are very scarce in our province. It is important to use your own strength to get some money rather than to depend on someone else,\u201d said Dayeni. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
She said she had graduated in 2019 from KSD FET College in Mthatha, where she studied mechanical engineering. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAfter I completed my diploma, I struggled to get a job. Then I took a decision to start my own thing, where I repair cars. Now I am working with my colleague, Lewis Gembuza, in Mthatha. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe are assisting people who have problems with their cars but the challenge that we have is that we do not have a proper place to work in,\u201d said Dayeni. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
She said they had tried to look for a place but with no luck. Dayeni added that some of the owners do not trust them because as they do not have a venue, they think they are scamming people. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe have helped so many people; it\u2019s just that we do not have a luck when we are looking for a place. We urge anyone who could assist us to do so.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to her it was always her dream to repair the cars, which is why she did not hesitate to grab this opportunity. She said they are proud because they have also given one student an opportunity to work with them, as an intern.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
