Teachers, who made the results of Clarkebury Agricultural School in Ngcobo shine in the matric results of 2022, were awarded by the school management, recently. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The principal of the school, Ayanda Matshayana, said besides awarding these teachers, they also wanted to ask stakeholders to assist by donating laptops that will be given to learners who do well in the matric results in the coming years. He said by doing this they want to motivate them to dedicate their time in school work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe were sitting in 80 percent for the past two years but last year we came with 92,59 percent in our matric results. This year we are targeting 100 percent and we are sure that we will reach there, because our teachers are very dedicated,\u201d said Matshayana. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He added that in order for them to get this 100 percent they need all the stakeholders\u2019 support. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Matshayana said that what made his teachers more dedicated is that they are united and have one vision. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIn order for us to get this 100 percent there should be discipline in teachers and learners, and to work hard. We decided to host this occasion today, also to motivate our Grade 12 learners because they are the ones who must come with this 100 percent.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said that they were lucky because the grandchild of Dr Nelson Mandela, Ndileka, had donated a Science lab to this school, so it is easy for learners to use it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Matshayana confirmed that even though there are always challenges the main one is support from the parents, but now learners are staying in hostels so it can be easy for them to go to classrooms at any time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to him, another programme that had assisted them was the Jenn Program, brought by the Department of Education. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIn this programme we are visited by teachers and learners from other schools, who are around our schools, to share their knowledge with us.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The chairperson of the School Governing Body (SGB), Michael Tunce, said that they had decided to host this celebration with the aim of acknowledging those who worked hard and brought change to this school. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe want to encourage them because our target now is 100 percent and we can see that they can do that because they are very dedicated. The teachers are conducting extra classes, when there are challenges; we sit down and try to come up with the solution,\u201d said Tunce. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
One of the Grade 12 learners, Liyema Bali (17), said that they would make sure that they come with this 100 percent because all of them are dedicated in their schoolwork. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
