The secretary for Iphulo Consortium Non-Profit Organisation (NPO), Ntsikelelo Macingwane, confirmed that they had hosted the Career Expo in Dalibaso Senior Secondary School in Mqanduli, with the aim of bringing knowledge to learners of that area. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Macingwane said that this event was attended by learners from Dinizulu High School, Dalibaso Senior Secondary School, Holomisa Senior Secondary School, Genqe Senior Secondary School and Bazindlovu Senior Secondary School. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Macingwane, they are a non-profit organisation established in 2022. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOur aim is to develop and contribute positively to people, more especially when it comes to health, schools and social ills in general. We also thought of bringing a Career Expo to our children who are in rural areas,\u201d said Macingwane. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added that most of the time learners who benefit are those who are living in the urban areas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said that this was their first Career Expo so that they want to do it annually. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are still not sure where we will host it, but if we are doing it again it will be next year now. We want to ensure our footprint because we want to mark the whole Eastern Cape Province.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to him, they also have other programmes that are in the pipeline. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said that they would do a soup kitchen on June 16 in Mthatha, where they will feed people who are living on the streets and those who are less fortunate. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added that they are targeting 100 people who will benefit in this programme. Macingwane confirmed that they would also donate clothes to Bethany Home. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe want to encourage our Grade 12 learners of 2023 to ensure that they dedicate themselves to their school work. They must know that our country will be bright because of their education. They must not undermine themselves; they can do better.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The principal of Dalibaso Senior Secondary School, Sakhele Libala, said that they were very happy to receive such a programme. He said that it would brighten up their future because now they will be able to choose careers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAt the end of the day they will have bright futures because it will be easy for them to follow what they want to be,\u201d said Libala. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the Grade 12 learners, Zizibele Ndeya (17), said that they felt so special because some of them come from families who are struggling even to have money for data. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis has opened our minds; now it will be easy for all of us to know what we can do next year,\u201d said Ndeya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
