The OR Tambo District Municipality has announced the
\nappointment of Basil Phumlani Mase as its new municipal manager.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mase\u2019s appointment is effective today, June 20.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His appointment follows the appointments of two senior
\nmanagers at the district municipality that assumed office last month. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The municipality recently appointed Siyasanga Ndakisa
\nas its chief financial officer and Sanele Dumisani Gqiba as its infrastructure,
\nwater, and sanitation department head.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cFollowing these critical appointments, the
\nmunicipality will have full complement of senior management pending the
\nappointment of Director: Community Services and Director: Rural Economic
\nDevelopment and Planning which are enroute to council for noting,\u201d said
\nmunicipal spokesperson Zimkhita Macingwane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Macingwane added that the district municipality was
\nserious about municipal transformation and organisational renewal as it
\nunderstands its positive impact towards service delivery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOn May 31, the council adopted the IDP and budget for
\nthe 2023\/2024 financial year as well as the reviewed organisational structure
\nthat is aligned to the municipal mandate and strategy. The recently adopted
\nbudget was and IDP was confirmed by the National Treasury and other relevant
\nauthorities to be credible and funded,\u201d Macingwane said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mase
\npreviously served as Administrator of the OR Tambo District Municipality
