King Sabatha Dalindyebo (KSD) Local Municipality traffic officer, Mnikelo Mjulwa (40), from Mpindweni locality in Mthatha, was described as someone who had a vision and always gave advice when needed to do so.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This was said by his colleagues at his memorial service held at Mthatha Town Hall in Mthatha, on Wednesday, September 27.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He was found dead in his homestead at Mpindweni locality in Mthatha, and his funeral was held at Ntshilini locality in Ngqeleni, last weekend. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was revealed that on the day his body was found on September 18, he was supposed to go to an interview in Komani, as he wanted to become a provincial traffic officer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His colleague and friend, traffic officer Khayaletu Mnyaka, said Mjulwa was everything to him. He said that they had met at the training college in Gqeberha in 2017, when training to become traffic officers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHe was always full of jokes, but would be serious when the situation needed him to be. Even when we came back from training, we were always together looking for a job. We were both hired by King Sabatha Dalindyebo Local Municipality in October 2019,\u201d said Mnyaka. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to him, he was the one who was tasked by their supervisor to locate Mjulwa after he did not report for duty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said upon his arrival at the homestead, he found the house locked. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhen checking through the window of the bedroom, I could not believe my eyes when I saw his body. I then called my management and informed them about the situation.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Acting director for Public Safety, Kenneth Timakwe, also described Mjulwa as someone who was always full of jokes. He said the municipality had lost someone who was very dedicated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt is painful because Mjulwa was still young. The municipality decided to hire 10 traffic officers in 2019 and he was one of them. He was not just an employee, he was punctual when it came to time, and knew what was needed from him. His file was very clean because he knew why he was employed,\u201d said Timakwe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His brother, Thembalethu Mjulwa, said they were happy to hear his colleague talk positively about him. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
