Grade 7 learners from Mancam Primary School in Mqanduli were given words of wisdom by their school management and other stakeholders, as they will be going to further their education in different senior secondary schools next year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The principal from Mancam Primary School, Xolani Ndlela, said that they had combined the farewell function of the Grade 7 learners with the graduation ceremony of Grade R. He said that their school deals with discipline in learners, so they always encourage them to ensure that they maintain it to pave their bright future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey are not going to one school, but different schools; we know that there are lot of schools in this area but they must be different. When they are going to those schools, we wish that they do not forget what they have learnt from this school,\u201d said Ndlela.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added that they start to instil discipline during assembly, because they pray before starting the day and read Bible verses in this school. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to him, he gives his learners a roster because they are the ones who read the Bible in the morning prayers before the school starts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis roster helps because each learner knows his\/her date of reading the Bible. Most of the time we emphasise the verses that deal with discipline (how the person should behave). This helps a lot because wherever the learner is he\/she knows what to do.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ndlela said that that is why they were bidding farewell to them with open hearts; they wanted them to leave this school knowing that teachers do not owe them anything. He said that these learners were educated and they were now giving them provision of looking after themselves in their new schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The deputy chairperson of the SGB, Noluvuyo Bonga, said that as parents they said to these learners that are going to different senior secondary schools, they should know that they are not going there for themselves, but will also represent the community of Mancam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They must make sure they stay away from all the bad influences they will meet on their way, and focus on their studies. If they have plans for their future surely, they will ignore unnecessary things and focus on their studies.<\/div>\n
