Head of Lwandl\u2019olubomvu Traditional Council, Nkosi Nzululwazi Sigcau, has expressed his gratitude to government for building his nation a state-of-the-art multi-purpose centre which, upon completion, will bring government services closer to his people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The multi-purpose centre, neighbouring Sigcau\u2019s Great Place in Matshona Village in Ntabankulu, is being built by the Department of Human Settlement to the tune of eight million rand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Sigcau, the multi-purpose centre will bring government services closer to the people by periodically hosting government departments, such as the Department of Home Affairs, the Department of Social Development, the Department of Rural Development and Land Reform, and others, once it starts operating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eastern Cape premier, Oscar Mabuyane, visited the Lwandl\u2019olubomvu Great Place and did a walk about at the facility, on November 24, as part of his visit to Ntabankulu to hand over completed government projects under the Smalltown Revitalisation Programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The multi-purpose facility will houses a day-care centre, a computer laboratory, an administration block, a community hall, a library, a kitchen and ablution facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThrough the facility, we want to integrate the traditional leadership and government to work under one roof,\u201d said Mabuyane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He further described the facility and the smalltown revitalisation projects he handed over in Ntabankulu as putting the district development model (DDM) in practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mabuyane urged residents to protect the infrastructure brought by government to the town against vandalism, and not to destroy already existing infrastructure when protesting in demand of other government services.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
