gunpoint at Slovo Park outside Mthatha on Saturday, 27 January at about 23:00.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to police spokesperson, Captain Welile Matyolo, it is alleged that the victim was hitchhiking on her way to Dosi locality around Mthatha when she was given a lift by the suspect on a black\/navy vehicle. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe suspect drove the vehicle to his place in Slovo Park, where he forced the victim into a bedroom and raped her,\u201d said&nbsp;Matyolo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe suspect then took the victim back to town and dropped her without taking her to where she wanted to go. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe victim went to Madeira police station and opened a case of rape also reporting that a firearm was used to threaten her,\u201d Matyolo added.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cPolice followed the information, and the 35-year-old suspect was arrested and was found in possession of a 9mm pistol and ammunition.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The suspect will appear at Mthatha Magistrate court on Monday, January 29 on charges of rape and unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\"
