Founder of Bomvane Youth Development, Lukhanyo Keti of Mqanduli, will be a co-host on Hillbrow Local Radio in Johannesburg as from this month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Keti is known in his small village of Nenga for assisting learners to apply to tertiary institutions, presenting motivational talks, and empowering young people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said that he is excited about this opportunity because it will pave his way for a career in radio. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAfter matric I thought things would be easy, as I wanted to pursue acting in Johannesburg. I faced many odds as someone who is not familiar with a bigger city. I had dreams of attending an art school, but because of a lack of funds I ended up going to college. I wanted to expand my knowledge in the art industry so I joined a film casting agency, where they encouraged me to register for a programme at the John Kani Market Theatre,\u201d said Keti.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He added that he then gained knowledge for performing for stage and screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to him, he had been working as an extra for many soapies, until he got a feature on Gomora<\/span>, and then worked on The Wife<\/span>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThe last one was 1802: Love Defies Time <\/span>on channel 103 1Magic.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n He wants to motivate young people who come from rural areas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cAs a young talented person who comes from rural areas, if you want something, go for it, fight until you get what belongs to you. I would like to encourage those who are pursuing acting, that talent alone is not enough.
