Peddie: Boy (2) dies after being set on fire by mother<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\nAs previously reported by the Mthatha Express, Police spokesperson, Lt Col Siphokazi Mawisa, confirmed that on Monday, July 8, at approximately 22:00, police were alerted by community members about a 41-year-old mother who had assaulted and set her son on fire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mawisa said, upon arrival, officers discovered the body of a 2-year-old boy who had been assaulted and burned to death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt is alleged that the mother attacked her child in front of her 7-year-old daughter, who then alerted the community,\u201d Mawisa said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
