A WELL-KNOWN athlete from Gwadana Village, Yanga Malusi, who was born in Mbhashe and is currently an athlete for the Real Gijimas Athletic Club in Mdantsane, is expected to join the KwaLanga TymeBank Athletic Club in January next year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This follows negotiations between KwaLanga TymeBank Athletic Club and Real Gijimas Athletic Club to release Malusi so he can join them starting next year. His parent club agreed to release the athlete in January to allow him to pursue his dreams of running for KwaLanga TymeBank Athletic Club.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His move to Cape Town follows after the Gwadana village-born athlete displayed a lot of talent and great potential in marathon events. After Malusi agreed to join the Cape Town team, KwaLanga TymeBank Athletic Club revealed their plans for his future. Speaking with Malusi, he told Mthatha Express that in March next year, he will run in England, representing KwaLanga TymeBank Club and South Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI\u2019m very excited and happy to join the KwaLanga TymeBank Club. Next year I will be competing in the Manchester 21km marathon, representing my new team and all of South Africa,\u201d said Malusi, who was visibly happy. It will be Malusi\u2019s first time competing in the Manchester 21KM marathon, but he aims to perform well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Malusi has highlighted his excitement about this new journey with the new team and looks forward to improving his performance. Furthermore, he expressed gratitude to his previous team, Real Gijimas, for their contribution to his career and hopes they will continue to produce great athletes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Royal Striders Athletic Club organiser, Lulama Tase, congratulated Malusi on joining the new club and hopes that the Gwadana village-born athlete will keep impressing whenever he is given an opportunity. Tase is also proud that Malusi is a product of the marathons hosted annually in Mnquma and believes this Mbhashe athlete will be a great example for upcoming runners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the last 15 years, Malusi has won all the marathons hosted by the Royal Striders Athletic Club in Butterworth, where his running career began to flourish, earning him a spot among the top runners in the Eastern Cape.
