AN author from Msobomvu Township in Gcuwa (Butterworth), Anathi Kum (21), has announced the publication of her poetry book titled, The Tree of Life<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to being an author, she has earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Agriculture and Animal Production from the University of Fort Hare and is preparing for her graduation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Kum, the book reflects her life experiences and journey of healing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt motivates those who read it to heal and start afresh in life after facing difficult challenges. I was drugged and raped at school, but I don\u2019t want to dwell on that too much. Writing this book helped me heal and express what was inside me, especially since no one truly understood my story. Through writing, I gained the strength to stand up again,\u201d said Kum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She added that she is now in a much better place. She emphasised that she was raised by her grandmother, who is still alive, after losing her mother at the age of eight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kum confirmed that she wrote the book in 2022, and it was sponsored by Publish Africa Magazines. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSeeing people showing interest in my book has fuelled my passion for writing. I know that by reading it, they can find healing and the strength to move forward,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
