The statement didn&#8217;t say whether those involved were students of the university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Videos have been doing the rounds on social media of three men chanting &#8220;p**s the boer and p**s the farmer&#8221; in front of the Over de Voor mens&#8217; residence, but students in neighbouring residences also witnessed and took videos of the incident last night, 5 June, just before midnight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NWU said in a statement that it &#8220;views the infringement or violation of human rights, policies, and rules in a serious light, and strongly condemns any actions or behaviour that seek to undermine its values.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-videopress\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\" style=\"max-width:292.995px;margin:auto\">\n<iframe title=\"VideoPress Video Player\" aria-label='VideoPress Video Player' width='424' height='750' src='https:\/\/videopress.com\/embed\/65wPvfAY?cover=1&amp;preloadContent=metadata&amp;useAverageColor=1&amp;hd=0' frameborder='0' allowfullscreen data-resize-to-parent=\"true\" allow='clipboard-write'><\/iframe><script src='https:\/\/v0.wordpress.com\/js\/next\/videopress-iframe.js?m=1770107250'><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Therefore, the university has commenced with the necessary investigation into the alleged incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We assure our stakeholders that anyone found guilty will be dealt with firmly in accordance with applicable rules and regulations.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A female resident, who wishes to remain anonymous, also said that she knows of a separate incident in which a female resident were harassed by a man in front of her ladies&#8217; residence this morning. He allegedly tried to stop her from entering and questioned her about what political party she belonged to. &#8220;The female students, especially, are very traumatised about this and scared to leave their residences,&#8221; the student said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A spokesperson for NWU confirmed that there was an alleged incident at a ladies&#8217; residence, but said no one was stopped from entering the residence.
