Two injured security officers were rushed to hospital following a cash-in-transit robbery on the N2 near Mdantsane yesterday.
According to police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Majola Nkohli, on Tuesday, July 18, at approximately 18:00, police were summoned to a complaint of cash-in-transit heist on the N2 near Mdantsane.
“At the scene, it is believed that explosives were used during the incident, and the two security officers were injured and rushed to hospital. The cash was also missing.
“The circumstances surrounding the incident will form part of the investigation,” said Nkohli.
The Hawks will be taking over the investigation.
