MNQUMA Local Football Association (Mnquma LFA) is expected to have a trophy presentation for its local league and Matta Challenge Easter Tournament at the Coloured Sports Ground near Butterworth on August 12.
This was announced by one of Mnquma LFA officials, Mbongeni “Bra TV” Matanga, as they wrapped up their season in July.
Matanga said that this weekend they will host a trophy presentation event where they will hand over trophies and medals to the teams who did well throughout the season.
He said that all their champions from different divisions, from u/13 to the senior teams, will get their prizes on August 12 at the Coloured Sports Ground.
However, before the trophy presentation, there will be an U/13 game where Fingo United will lock horns against Hotspurs FC.
In the U/15 game, FC Tshabalala will entertain Benfica FC and in Msobomvu Sports Grounds, and Butterworth Former Stars will host Mayaya FC from Dutywa.
After these games, everyone will go to the Coloured Sports Ground where the trophy presentation will take place.
FC Tshabalala (senior team) from Butterworth will be crowned league champions as they end their season at the top of the Mnquma LFA League.
Walter Sisulu University FC (WSU FC) from Bika Campus near Butterworth town will be crowned as Matta Challenge Easter tournament champions for this year.
WSU FC defeated Nqamakwe City FC 2–0 in the Matta Challenge Tournament final that was hosted at the sports grounds during the Easter holidays.
For their win they expected to get approximately 10 000 trophies and medals.
Matanga said that the players, teams, media, and different stakeholders are expected to attend the event as they have been invited.
In conclusion, he also urged parents to keep supporting their kids who play sport, because they want to see young people playing professional football.
