THUNDERBIRDS Ladies, from Butterworth, are hoping to bounce back from back-to-back defeats, when they will be playing against top-three side, JVW FC, in a Hollywoodbets Super league clash in East London this Saturday.

Coach Thembalethu Apleni’s side, Thunderbirds Ladies, are going into the weekend league clash aiming for maximum points, after suffering two successive defeats against Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) Football team and Royal AM Ladies. They were beaten 2-1 at home by TUT Football team, and lost 1-0 away against Royal AM Ladies over the weekend.

For the weekend league encounter against JVW FC, Apleni’s side will need to double their work effort in order to beat visitors. Meanwhile JVW FC will be aiming at continuing to close the gap between themselves and league table toppers, Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies.

JVW FC have an advantage going into this weekend’s encounter, as they won one game and drew the other in their previous two games, so they have more confidence than Apleni’s ladies.

Currently, JVW FC are second in the league, with 45 points, while Thunderbirds Ladies are ninth with 29 points.
