The Reach for A Dream Foundation recently partnered up with Airlink, The Capital Hotels & Apartments, Manaka Ranaka, and Generations: The Legacy to make the dream of a fourteen-year-old boy from Mthatha, Oyisa, come true!
Oyisa, who is a huge fan of the popular TV show Generations, says his greatest dream was to meet Lucy from Generations and visit the set where the show is filmed.For his Dream Day, the foundation flew Oyisa and his aunt from East London to Johannesburg for an unforgettable experience.
The excitement began when Oyisa spent the morning with Lucy, joining her for an interview on SABC 3’s Expresso Morning Show. He was treated to an exclusive, behind-the-scenes glimpse into her life off-screen. The day became even more thrilling as they headed to the Generations set for an exclusive tour.
On set, Oyisa met and interacted with several cast members. He watched in awe as they rehearsed their lines and filmed a few scenes, gaining a unique perspective on the making of his favorite show. The adventure ended with a special lunch, where Oyisa and Lucy shared stories and laughter, creating memories that will stay with him forever.“I really enjoyed my time with Lucy, it was a pleasure to meet her in person as I never thought a young boy like me from the Eastern Cape would ever get the opportunity to see her with my own eyes, especially in Johannesburg.
“She and Reach For A Dream made my whole day very special and they treated me well. I also got to have lunch with her and hear her jokes around the table. She is a very fun and loving person.” Oyisa says he will always remember this day.The Reach for A Dream Foundation’s mission is not only bringing joy and inspiring hope but also turning the dreams of children fighting life-threatening illnesses into reality.Lwanele Mpeta, the foundation’s Eastern Cape Branch Manager, said Oyisa’s Dream Day was truly special and impactful.
