A local tavern owner is among four suspects who were arrested for the murder of two people in Bityi.
On Saturday, October 7, SAPS Bityi detectives were investigating a missing person inquiry when investigations led them to a local tavern owner, who allegedly took them to the dongas in Nqwathi Location.
Captain Welile Matyolo of SAPS said, “There, detectives found the burnt out bodies of two males, aged 28 and 30. Their identities are known but will be released on completion of the identification process.”
It is alleged that the two victims were involved in the theft of liquor from a local tavern two days ago.
“Four suspects aged between 28 and 65 years old were arrested and are due to appear in the Bityi magistrate’s court on Monday, October 9 , on a charge of murder (two counts),” Matyolo concluded.
