The SPCA in East London is encouraging residents to spread some Madiba magic and spend their 67 minutes with them or donating items on their wish list.
In celebration of Mandela Day today, they are challenging residents to participate in an animal food donation drive around the theme of “Christmas in July”.
They are trying to complete a mural with bags and tins of food by the end of July 2024.
Last week, Laerskool Ooskus made the first contribution to the Christmas in July initiative.
Residents can bring tins of food, dry dog and cat food, bleach, washing powder, mops, hard brooms, and drop them off at the SPCA East London or at their Charity Shop in Vincent.
