A quick response by Sulenkama Police Officers in Qumbu led to the recovery of 74 stolen sheep in one of the homesteads at Sikwayini locality in Qumbu on Thursday evening, October 12.
Police spokesperson, Captain Welile Matyolo said the owner, Sisa Mpisane, reported to the police that suspects had cut a fence leading to the kraal and stole his sheep.
Matyolo confirmed that police quickly responded and spotted the suspect still in the same area, but they (suspects) fled on foot, leaving sheep behind on the mielie field.
“All of them were recovered, and quick response by police has prevented another stock being successfully stolen. A good job well done by Sulenkama Police Officers,” said Matyolo.
